    Description

Antique/vintage youth-sized shoes as pictured.  Not sure what to make of these?  They were proudly displayed as part of a private collection of Native American artifacts (see our other listings).  Beautiful condition, in our opinion!  Leather tops.  Thick wood soles with iron "horseshoes" attached with square-head nails.  Toe kicks, ala a cowboy boot - brass?  Great examples of craftsmanship here!
UNconfirmed history that came to us with this collection of artifacts from the daughter (now 74 years old) of the original owners:  Her parents worked at one of the Japanese Internment centers located in Arizona in the early/mid-40s.  These items were obtained from local Native Americans living in the area.  The daughter told us that her brother was born in 1945 at the internment camp.  She herself was born in 1946 in Michigan.
That being said, from what we've seen, it appears that this collection included items from both Northwest (as far as Alaska), as well as from the Southwest tribes.  And that the dating of the items varied pretty widely.
These items have all been displayed proudly for many years.  We've very lightly dusted them but have done nothing further to attempt to clean.  Please refer to pics and email with questions (or answers!).  Thanks!
Note:  See our other listings for additional items from this same large collection - rugs, blankets, baskets, pottery.
